The Cascina Monchiero farmhouse is located in the Roero area, in Piedmont, on the green hill of Bra, only 3 km from the historic city centre.

With the desire to valorise and make known the customs and traditions of the local peasant tradition, a project was launched to recover and renovate of late 19th century farm building. Particular attention has been paid to preserving the original architectural features, through the painstaking recovery of materials such as roof tiles, bricks, stones, wooden beams, doors and furniture.
The current farm building is the typical rural cottage of the Piedmont countryside. It has an "L"-shaped floor plan with two above-ground floors and a basement cellar.
The original construction dates back to late 1800slater expanded in 1910 by the famous lawyer Costantino di Bra.
After the Second World War, the building remained uninhabited for many years, and in the late 1990s the current owners, Monchiero Luciana and Gullino Eugenio, bought it with the intention of giving the historic farmhouse a new lease of life.
Their ancestors, called 'scarpas', were already renting out part of the land and the farmstead itself as early as 1930.
At the beginning of the 2000s starts a long process of renovation of the cottage and care of the relevant land that lasts nine years.
The property, with a keen eye for the environment and respect for nature, has also implemented a system of rainwater harvesting which are used to irrigate the areas adjacent to the facility. He also decided to invest in an heating from renewable sources and in addition in an electricity production plant using photovoltaic panels.
